With the closing of the second Great War and the rise of the Cold War, the Soviet Union was not about to allow the United States or any other western power prove themselves superior over the industrialized might of the Motherland. Despite the restrictions placed by the United Nations against the creation of superhuman soldiers intended for use in war, Joseph Stalin went ahead with a program to create Russian heroes that would serve as “The People’s Guardians.”
